United States of America - Washington, Richland Job Summary The Readiness Assurance Contractor Assurance (RACA) Cause Analyst II is responsible for supporting facility management on issues, events, and accidents requiring cause analysis, investigation, and evaluations. following guidance in the DOE standard on Occurrence Reporting Causal Analysis (DOE-STD-1197-2011). This position will assist in supporting issues management, corrective action development, extent of condition evaluations, effectiveness reviews, and related activities within the organization. Serves as a representative for the RACA organization on performance assurance activities identified in DOE O 226.1B, Implementation of Department of Energy Oversight Policy. This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS - Support implementation of the contractor assurance program - Support the RACA organization on project level cause analyses processes - Implement the cause analysis program for assigned facilities and/or organizations - Qualify under the WTP program as an apparent cause analyst - Monitor facility and/or organizational related performance - Participate/lead apparent cause analysis - Participate in investigations - Perform human performance and data analyses - Develop/monitor of corrective action plans - Perform/monitor extent of condition evaluations - Perform/monitor effectiveness reviews - Perform common cause analysis - Monitor corrective actions and lower level issues - Maintain expertise with Contractor Assurance System requirements and causal qualifications. - Timely reporting of contractor assurance issues and events to management - Performing other RACA activities as directed by management - Support the Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment - This job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is responsible. Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisors request SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity. AECOM has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the worlds largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOEs most technically challenging cleanup projectsequivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent education or specific training in area of expertise. Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in cause analysis, performance assurance, or issues management, including issue identification, analysis, prioritization, corrective action plan development and implementation, trending analysis, and/or lessons learned. Experience in maintaining assessment processes, schedules, impacts, outcomes, and issues. Knowledge of DOE O 226.1B, Implementation of Department of Energy Oversight Policy Preferred: Experience with Issues Management (IM) software-Devon Way products, previous qualification as Cause Analyst.
