United States of America - Washington, Richland Job Summary The Commissioning and Operations (C & O) Contractor Assurance Specialist 1 is responsible, under the supervision and direction of the C & O Contractor Assurance Manager, for supporting the organizations implementation of Contractor Assurance activities focusing on lessons learned within the organization. This position will assist in performance measures, trending, and assessment activities within the organization. Serves when assigned as a representative for the C & O organization on performance assurance and lessons learned activities and requirements identified in DOE O 226.1B, Implementation of Department of Energy Oversight Policy, and applicable requirements from DOE O 210.2A, DOE Corporate Operating Experience Program, 10 CFR 830, Nuclear Safety Management, Code of Federal Regulations, and DOE O 414.1 Series, Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications. This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS - Develops/maintains/analyzes C & O Performance Indicators to monitor C & O Contractor Assurance System (CAS) effectiveness in the area of lessons learned. - Supports project level lessons learned processes. - Maintains expertise with CAS requirements and Lessons Learned procedures. - Member of the Lessons Learned Working Group with responsibility for assignments and Lessons Learned related to C & O activities. - Function as the Plant Operations Lessons Learned Point of Contact (POC). - Function as the OPEXShare POC for C & O Lessons Learned. - Subject Matter Expert (SME) for 24590-WTP-GPG-OP-0001, Plant Operations Lessons Learned Guide. - Provides briefs to C & O personnel on implementation of Lessons Learned program and use of OPEXShare database. - Works to continually improve the implementation of the C & O Lessons Learned processes. - Monitors and screens external lessons learned and events for C & O applicability. - Monitors C & O Lessons Learned implementation activities. - Presents C & O Lessons Learned information to Corrective Action Review Board (CARB). Includes status of C & O Lessons Learned activities and performance. - Assist in administering the C & O Corrective Action Review Board. - Administer/Champion the OPEXShare database and the use of this system for the C & O organization. - Ensures Lessons Learned dissemination and traceability within C & O. - Takes lead on evaluating or coordinating significant lessons learned evaluations with C & O ramifications. - Ensures timely reporting of C & O identified issues to management. - Performs other C & O activities as directed by management. - Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment - This job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is responsible. Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisors request SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual AECOM has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the worlds largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOEs most technically challenging cleanup projectsequivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, architecture, or science, or equivalent education or specific training in area of expertise. Experience : Department of Energy, NRC, or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience desired. Minimum of 4 years of experience preferably in implementing Contractor Assurance elements specified in DOE O 226.1 Series, Implementation of DOE Oversight Policy. Proficient in using MS Office products with advanced skills in using Excel.
