Requisition ID: 242440 Requisition Posting End Date: 11/17/2021 Project Overview Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world's largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington state. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era. Responsibilities * Develops, reviews and coordinates documents with suppliers, other disciplines, and customers. * Coordinates technical issues with senior engineers. * Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements in the preparation of Control Systems design products. * Responsible for activities such as marking up engineering deliverables such as Piping & Instrument Diagrams and Logic Diagrams, developing instrument data sheets, and supporting generation of Material Requisitions. * Contributes to maintaining the project's instrument database using automated tools and has knowledge of the applicability of information to be populated in the instrument database. * Champions non-proprietary electronic data interchange and integrate automation technology wherever practical. * Demonstrates leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement, team building, and interpersonal communication skills. Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications Level 1 * Associates degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering Technology with 1 year of related experience; In lieu of degree, 7 years related design experience. * Must have 1 year of experience in developing Control Systems Engineering documentation for Final Design. Level 2 * Associates degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering Technology with 3 years of related experience; In lieu of degree, 9 years related design experience. * Must have 1 year of experience in developing Control Systems Engineering documentation for Final Design. Minimum Qualifications * Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education. * Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. * Possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship. * Familiar with design of nuclear facilities. * Knowledgeable of major regulations and industry codes and standards applicable to Instrumentation and Controls * Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio. * Must have excellent written and oral communication abilities, along with effective presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications * Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience * Experience using Bentley Microstation Bechtel's internal staffing policy includes the minimum time that you need to be in your current position before applying to a new position.
