Instruction and Classroom Support Technician 2 WSU Tri-CitiesTitle:255N-YN - Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2Business Title:Instruction and Classroom Support Technician 2 | WSU Tri-CitiesLocation:WSU TRI-CITIES CAMPUSEmployee Type:ClassifiedJob Family:Civil Service - OT EligiblePosition Details:Summary of Duties:The Instruction & Classroom Support Technician will provide lab support for all WSU- Tri-Cities campus biology and environmental science labs.Prepares equipment, materials, and demonstrations as requested by instructors. Will assist instructors with laboratory, lecture demonstrations, planning of laboratory assignments, schedules and assist students in laboratory assignments or in discipline subject matter. This position will be responsible for operating and performing routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory and demonstration instruments and equipment. Will monitor laboratories to ensure compliance with safety policy, and assist with inventory maintenance. Will assign and train users in greenhouse and ensure annual maintenance of the teaching and research greenhouses is performed.Required Qualifications:A Bachelor's Degree with major study in specific instructional area; or equivalent education/experience.Additional Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field.Experience that demonstrates the ability to work independently and as a team player.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of routine laboratory procedures and equipment.Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory safety policies and procedures.Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to conduct thorough and appropriate fact finding inquires, reason logically, and articulate sound solutions.Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure efficient laboratory function.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a microbiology and/or molecular biology lab.Experience in growing and maintaining plants, particularly in a greenhouse setting.Experience in a teaching environment.
