Job Summary Project Controls team obtains required schedule information by all disciplines/functions. Identifies restraints and effect on total project schedule. Coordinates with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs. Responsible for total integration of schedule activities. Identifies schedule considerations and problems resulting from inter-discipline or functional restraints and interfaces. This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS Obtains required schedule information by all disciplines/functions. Identifies restraints and effect on total project schedule. Coordinates with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs. Responsible for total integration of schedule activities. Identifies schedule considerations and problems resulting from inter-discipline or functional restraints and interfaces. Monitors and reports critical path and schedule performance of the total project. Conducts project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities. Recommends alternatives for schedule improvement to project team for discussion and/or decision. Responsible for leading, when requested, the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans. Monitors cost recording, monitoring, and reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards. Responsible for the development and accuracy of cost reports. Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency. Responsible for cost engineering and cost analysis/control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for discipline/projects/proposal cost activities which require a high degree of technical skilled experience. Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to cost engineering guidance to area & functions. Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment This job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is responsible. Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisors request SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES NA PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity. Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world's largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory. Minimum Requirements EducationExperience: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management or related discipline from an accredited university and 3+ years of related project controls experience, or in lieu of a degree, high school diploma or equivalent and 9+ years of project controls experience on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) job or equivalent job. Minimum Experience Includes: Must have intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Proficient in Primavera P/6 and COBRA applications. Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office. Skilled in oral and written communication. Proficiency in using PC operating systems and several basic software applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Proficiency in using multiple discipline specific applications (PC Works, Cobra, Primavera, etc.) Preferred Experience: Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Cobra. Previous Earned Value Management System experience on EPC job. Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities. Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
