Job Summary

Under the direction of the Production and Outage Planning Manager, the Production Control Specialist supports planning activities for Direct Feed Low Activity Waste (DFLAW) production. Production planning for DFLAW ensures that all necessary materials, staffing, and plant systems are aligned to accomplish plant commissioning milestones. The planning process includes long term strategic planning based on the DFLAW commissioning schedule and a rolling month planning process that is increasingly detailed until handed off to the work week management group. The Production Control Specialist is responsible for gathering information related to planned activities from the project schedule and other sources, developing and updating planning deliverables and tools, leading and participating in status meetings, and deconflicting activities that having overlapping usage of personnel, plant systems, or materials. The Production Control Specialist is also responsible for identifying and tracking potential problems associated with production and facilitating resolution of those problems. The Production Control Specialist will also support planning integration with other Hanford Site contractors that provide services and materials, including outage planning.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

+ Gather and develop schedule and planned work activity information necessary to support work planning and department needs

+ Develop, status, and maintain production planning schedules and other informational tools, such as graphics, milestone lists, and other department products

+ Identify potential conflicts in planned activities and facilitate resolution

+ Coordinate the use of the appropriate tools and technologies to most efficiently interact with other organizations, including the transition of the production plan to the work week management process

+ Ensure effective written and verbal communications with organizational and project interfaces

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual

Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world's largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era.

The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a technical, administration, or management field and 6 years of experience in scheduling, work planning, production planning, or related field. Experience with scheduling software and principles is required. Experience with Primavera scheduling software preferred. PMP certification desired, but not required.

OR

Associate's degree in a technical, administration, or management field and 8 years of experience in scheduling, work planning, production planning, or related field. Experience with scheduling software and principles is required. Experience with Primavera scheduling software preferred. PMP certification desired, but not required.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of experience in scheduling, work planning, production planning, or related field. Experience with scheduling software and principles is required. Experience with Primavera scheduling software preferred.

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
