We are currently hiring for a Crew Supervisor for a rotating
shift at our manufacturing plant in Richland, Washington. The Crew
Supervisor is a thought leader, a facilitator, and is instrumental
in ensuring optimal throughput and production efficiencies by
developing effective processes and equipment utilization strategies
that meet production goals and objectives. Leading these processes
and strategies ensure that we are achieving conformance and
producing quality product that meets our customer requirements and
ATI goals and objectives. The hours of this position rotate from
5:30 am - 6:00 pm to 6:00 pm - 5:30 am.
The Crew Supervisor will assist with scheduling and oversight of
the production functions and processes during their assigned shift
and to maximize efficient melt operations. The Crew Supervisor is
responsible for training, coaching, motivating, and leading the
production workforce to ensure safe and efficient operation of the
production areas. You will be responsible for leading a team of 7
direct reports with diverse personalities. You will be a bridge
between the outgoing and oncoming shifts and will leverage your
communication skills to ensure information is passed on accurately
to the next shift so there isn't a lag in production.
In order to become successful and provide immediate impact, you
will have to quickly learn ATI's processes, products and customers;
and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including
engineering, quality, safety and have basic knowledge of
electrical, mechanical, vacuum and controls systems. Attention to
detail, strong problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement
mindset, the ability to act quickly and make impactful decisions,
and exceptional interpersonal skills are included in the skillset
of a successful Crew Supervisor.
The Crew Supervisor will ensure that the flow of production is
uninterrupted, provide maintenance coordination during machine down
time, offer operator support, provide safety leadership and be a
key driver of continuous improvement initiatives. In order to
handle equipment issues as they arise, the Crew Supervisor must
have basic mechanical knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and
possibly lead the repair efforts in conjunction with the
maintenance team, especially on the off shifts.
- Align and manage day to day production process including basic
troubleshooting and equipment repairs, especially on the off
- Drive a culture of accountability that works toward
establishing a team environment that fosters a culture of Safety
and Quality as the foundation of what we do. Conduct weekly safety
meetings. Conduct safety observations and various safety trainings;
daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. Ensure crew
completes safety observations and tracking for reporting and the
weekly score card.
- Monitor processes and tasks in order to identify problems and
improvement opportunities and apply the Continuous Improvement
tools, including TSP and KATA to assigned areas as well as to
unplanned incidents required to prevent recurrence. Conduct audits
and investigations, as required, in assigned area. Utilize ATI
tools, PSR, 5S, Standard Work to resolve problems.
- Ensure strict adherence to both internal and external customer
requirements and production schedules. Monitor and coordinate
training to ensure tasks are completed as required by standard work
and work instructions. Responsible for verifying the accuracy of
all controlled documentation generated by team members.
- Report out on production metrics established includes uptime
reports, MP Production schedule, attending various meetings to give
reports related to production, etc. Report and adjust to deviations
to the plan.
- Develop team members through engagement in problem solving and
continual feedback loops, ensuring clear expectations are given and
performance is managed effectively through quarterly evaluations
and corrective action as prescribed by company policy or practice.
Track and submit time and attendance information for team
- Ensure that shift is staffed appropriately to meet production
requirements each day, factoring vacation time, holidays, illness
and any unusual production requirements. Communicate complete
status of the plant to next crew supervisor at shift change.
Additionally, leave plant in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
at shift turnover.
- Data entry/tracking using a computerized data system, drafting
correspondence and filling out various paperwork; Microsoft Office
Programs are used as well as other computer systems
- Manage all equipment, tools, and parts in area of
responsibility. Take appropriate action in identifying needed
maintenance repairs, and in procurement of ordering of supplies
needed through proper channels. Submit work orders as
- Serves as On Duty Point of Contact for the plant, on nights,
weekends, and anytime a manager is not available.
- Conduct investigations and report out, injuries, damage events.
Supervisor is responsible for documenting incidents.
- HS Diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience is
required in manufacturing or in a heavy industrial
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic
- A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Manufacturing,
Business or related field is preferred.
- Experience with LEAN manufacturing practices and continuous

- Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving
experience and/or skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written

Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
