Job SummaryThe Senior QE - Functionally reports to the Manager of Quality (MOQ). The Senior C QE is responsible for facilitating effective administration and implementation of the WTP QA Program requirements for all project activities The C QE assures that activities are planned, performed, and completed in accordance with WTP procedures and the WTP QA Program.This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCCMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKSSupport C implementing document/procedure development to ensure quality program requirements are appropriately addressed;Support development of C QA program implementing documents and tools for WTP;Maintain expertise in quality assurance requirements;Personal ownership for completion of training, obtaining and maintaining required qualifications and certifications, in support of execution of assignments;Assist in development of C quality program documents (e.g., QA Plan) as necessary for C activities;Provide input into the required training for quality assurance and quality control personnel;Coordinate and support revisions of the WTP QA Program necessary to support C activities;Develop implementing procedures for quality assurance requirements assigned to C for implementation;Assisting in the identification of quality attributes in planning processes to ensure work/testing/analysis is accomplished in accordance with WTP QA program requirements;Providing discipline-specific support to the QC inspectors;Assuring appropriate implementation of the WTP QA Program;Assessing implementation and compliance, identifying and reporting quality assurance program deficiencies to line management and the MOQ;Obtaining and/or maintaining NQA-1 Lead Auditor qualification;Ensuring that significant issues are raised to senior management attention to facilitate prompt resolution;Assist with and ensure the identification, documentation, evaluation, segregation, and disposition of nonconformance's, conditions adverse to quality; and for notification to affected organizations;Working with the Engineering staff to develop and implement alternative requirements for items that do not conform to specified requirements including ensuring that commercial grade dedication (CGD) requirements are met and that suspect/counterfeit items (S/C-I) are not inadvertently installed or used;Identifying and implementing actions to promote improvement and correct deficiencies in the implementation of the WTP QA Program;Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environmentThis job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisors request SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNonePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-ManualPerforms desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the world's largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects equivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory. Minimum RequirementsEducation: Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture, science or equivalent education or specific training in area of expertise.Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in implementing DOE Quality Assurance requirements (DOE O 414.1X) in accomplishing work at DOE facilities is desired. Department of Energy, NRC, or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience desired. This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship Preferred Qualifications
