Job Responsibilities/Duties

Provide senior level environmental Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permitting support to the Tank Farm Contractor.

Provide program leadership and oversight of RCRA permitting to projects and operations.

Author, review and manage environmental permitting documents and issues for assigned units.

Identify opportunities for proactive permitting process opportunities, project support opportunities, and communication.

Lead regulatory determinations by staying abreast of new and changing regulations and providing comments to regulators/DOE as applicable.

Be knowledgeable of Tank Farm facility operations, and serve as point of contact with expertise in permits issued to facilities and their facility implementation.

Develop research and technical reports for complex RCRA compliance and permitting issues.

Present and recommend technical solutions to significant and complex environmental, issues.

Lead environmental permitting services and provide oversight to projects and operations.

Lead projects and operations environmental regulatory interactions, and set overall environmental strategies for assigned permits.

Ensure permits are implementable so that projects and operations can maintain environmental compliance and stewardship.

Comply with WRPS policies and procedures.

Ensure ISMS Principles are incorporated into organization's activities.

Required Qualifications

BA/BS Degree in Environmental Science or related science discipline and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.

Desired Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to facilitate project milestones.

Must be able to clearly and concisely communicate to peers and management.

Experience in RCRA permitting or field compliance is highly desirable.

MS degree is preferred.
