At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our team is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support the following:

*Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. *Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. *Constructs components, subunits, units or simple models or adapts standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions. *Follows specific layout, drawings, sketches and diagrams to construct test articles, devices and subunits of equipment. *Performs light fabrication (mechanical, I&C, hydraulic, etc., using general fabrication equipment (drill press, band saws, portable hand tools, pipe threading, tubing bending, etc.) *Conducts various tests or experiments which may require modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data. *Assists in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials which are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts. *Develops information concerning previous operational failures and modifications. *Operates overhead cranes, forklifts and other industrial machinery and equipment. *Performs structural and piping welds *Machines components/parts to support fabrication and assembly of test articles. *Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. Basic Qualifications

*BA/BS, or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 2 years' experience *Journeyman pipe fitter/welder qualified/certified or capable of certifying on FCAW, GMAW and SMAW processes for pipe welds certification will be required to be completed under the CPCCo welding program *Demonstrated hands-on experience performing light fabrication (mechanical, I&C, hydraulic, etc., using general fabrication equipment (drill press, band saws, portable hand tools, pipe threading, tubing bending, etc.) *Qualified to operate remotely operated class 1 overhead gantry cranes *Able to meet the physical requirements of performing in-the-field tests *US Citizen

Desired Qualifications

*Experience in the operation of automated plasma cutter including computer aided drafting (CAD) file creation and input *Experience performing machining operations on manual lathe and mill operation *Working knowledge of Engineering Testing protocols *Demonstrated experience handling and using bulk chemicals (non-hazardous/ non-radioactive) *Qualified or capable of qualifying to operate class 4, 5, and 7 forklift
