We seek a proven Senior Environmental Scientist to perform assessments and work with leadership to grow our Environmental Consulting team. This is a seller-doer role with broad responsibilities that includes thought leadership, performing assessments and marketing for Environmental Consulting. Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements marketing plans for the Environmental Consulting group Develops marketing information in concert with graphics and other NV5 Leadership Conducts expert-level observations and assess Laboratory testing per the TNI, A2LA, and EPA Method requirements Prepares expert-level audit reports with findings in a manner consistent with TNI, ANAB, A2LA and EPA methodology Provides expert level interfacing with those being audited in a professional and non-combative manner Acts as lead person or technical advisor on projects Understands and adheres to all industry regulatory guidance and governance Writes and gives presentations at technical conferences Writes and give training classes in sampling, testing, auditing, data validation, etc. Assist in developing proposals and marketing literature Write thought leadership articles Lead assessor training

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (Chemistry, Environmental Science, Microbiology, etc.) from an accredited college or university and at least 15 years' experience Certification as a TNI 2016, 2009, 2003 Assessor or the ability to obtain certification Certification as an ISO 17025 Assessor or the ability to obtain certification EPA Drinking Water Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Microbiology Certification Officer or the ability to obtain certification Ten or more years of progressive technical analytical chemistry, analytical laboratory quality assurance/quality control, analytical chemistry/auditing training, and laboratory auditing experience A broad base of technical experience across the field of analytical chemistry and laboratory operations is needed Must also have satisfactorily completed an approved assessor training program meeting the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) auditor's training requirements Demonstrated ability to perform at the expert level with at least 20 or more years of Laboratory testing, laboratory auditing, data validation, QA systems and review experience Proven customer service orientation and consultation skills sufficient to partner with client organizations Expert level experience with auditing laboratories using TNI, DOD QSM, and inorganic/organic methods Expert level knowledge of the relevant assessment methods and assessment documents Expert level knowledge with the various forms of records generated by environmental analytical laboratories performing sample analysis Expert level knowledge of data reporting, analysis, and reduction techniques and procedures Expert-level knowledge of prevailing industry and professional standards, practices, and protocols, relevant regulations, assessment procedures, and client requirements for assessments Expert-level knowledge of and conversant with the specific tests or types of tests for which the assessment is sought and, where relevant, with the associated sampling and preservation procedures Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel
