as an engineering firm in support of nuclear cleanup operations for
the U.S. Department of Energy at Hanford in Richland, Washington.
We have progressively grown from our origins into a full-service
engineering and fabrication company providing cost-effective
solutions in the nuclear, defense, energy, and hazardous waste
industries. We are an established, woman-owned small business
headquartered in Richland, Washington. We offer full-service
engineering, design, fabrication, instrumentation and controls,
electrical, database and software engineering, technology
development, and geophysics/subsurface imaging. We also have
facilities in Tucson, Arizona and Aiken, South Carolina. We are
presently licensed to provide engineering within the states of
Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and South Carolina. We are currently
hiring two full time permanent Welder II to join our growing team!

environment. Job Summary:The Welder II role entails reading and
interpreting blueprints and engineering plans and must be able to
work without constant oversight. The position uses blueprints along
with other data, such as work plans, to calculate correct weld
sequence to minimize or eliminate any warpage due to heat input.
The Welder II will also layout, cut, fit, prep, tack, and weld
components together to meet drawing specifications and requirements
using the specified weld procedures dictated in the Fabrication,
Inspection, and Test plan for each individual job. This role is
responsible for ensuring their completed components safely meet or
exceed drawing configurations and tolerances. Essential
Responsibilities/Duties: Perform welding on critical and support
equipment to a qualified Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).
Perform structural welding on parts and components per the
requirements of various specifications as prescribed by Project
Travelers, Engineering Drawings, and Work Orders.Perform all duties
in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with
established Company policies and procedures.Read and understand
engineering drawings and welding symbols.Fabricate and weld parts
in accordance with Project documentation.Sufficient working
knowledge of materials to determine the proper WPS to use and the
ability to select the correct filler metal and gas for a given
WPS.Determine the proper sequence of welding in order to prevent or
reduce the amount of warpage to the work piece.Fabricate weld
fixtures as necessary to perform individual welding
projects.Maintain weld records.Welding: perform two or more welding
operations in accordance with WPS's for processes such as FCAW,
GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW as required. Including pre and post weld
heating operations as specified in WPS's as applicable.Assembly:
assemble basic mechanical equipment, structural components, and
piping systems.Perform self-verification of welded parts and
assemblies before inspection to ensure quality of work performed
meets or exceeds acceptance criteria.Interface with QA/QC
personnel.Report unsafe conditions and unsafe equipment.Measure
work pieces to determine accuracy and acceptability per given
requirements.Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work
piece.Ensure that all documentation is correctly filled out and
kept current as work progresses.Keep a clean and organized work
area.Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Required
Qualifications: 3+ years' experience with a list of welding
qualifications; OR a combination of 1+ years' experience and an
Associates of Applied Sciences in Welding Technology or
equivalent.Ability to pass a Columbia Energy weld test.Ability to
operate tools, machinery, and vehicles safely.Ability to read,
write and comprehend both verbal communications and written
directions.Ability to perform arithmetic as required for layout and
fabrication i.e. add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and
decimals, solve for missing angles or sides of a triangle,
etc.Ability to travel to field sites when necessary.Must pass an
employment record, criminal background check and a drug screen
(drug and alcohol free workplace). Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in R&D or Prototype fabrication.Experience working
to a NQA-1 or ASME Section VIII program.Experience reading and
working to drawings.Experience performing welds subjected to
testing such as UT and RTAbility to weld pipe, sheet metal, and
structural steel.Valid drivers' license and a clean driving record.

Standards Physical Requirements: Employee will be required to
adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting,
and lifting.Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and
hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull: objects, materials,
controls and tools repetitively. May be required to lift, carry and
move up to 50lbs.Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways,
work off of platforms and man lifts, and may occasionally work out
on an open structure using the appropriate fall protection
requirements.Will be required to wear personal protective equipment
(PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety
glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests,
gloves and leather work boots.Will be required to work in
hot/cold/damp environments. Working Conditions while Performing
Essential Functions: This position is performed in a
shop/construction/field setting with occasional relocations to
projects, Vendors, and Industrial sites. The atmosphere is fast
paced and deadline oriented with focus on safety and quality.
