If you would like to work with a highly skilled workforce to achieve unique and challenging goals that critically impact our environment and community, this is your chance to be a part of our legacy The selected candidate will serve as a Characterization Coordinator within the Central Plateau Risk Management Project (CPRM) and will be primarily responsible for supporting the characterization group to facilitate future demolition preparations and the demolition of facilities. The CPRM Characterization functional group is responsible for providing identification of hazardous systems, components, equipment, and waste that will require removal from facilities prior to facility demolition. Responsible for executing the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project. Responsibilities of a Central Plateau Risk Management (CPRM) Project Characterization Coordinator will involve supporting the Project in the following areas: Maintaining compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, directives, and other binding requirements that affect environmental aspects. Performing all work safely and in compliance with environmental obligations using the core functions and core elements of the Integrated Safety Management System/Environmental Management System (ISMS/EMS). Participating in work planning, hazard identification and control, work performance within the controls including feedback and continuous improvement, and stop work responsibility. Acting as the liaison between Radiological Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental for activities requiring characterization data in assigned facilities. Supporting coordination of activities of the Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) organization when NDA is required in assigned facilities. Managing the Facility Characterization Data Books (FCDBs) for assigned facilities. Performing Historical Assessments for assigned facilities. Developing field sampling/survey plans/instructions, as needed. Preparing and sending Request for Analytical Services (RAS) Forms Supporting development of Sample Authorization Forms (SAF) Coordinating Data Validation and Verification as specified in the Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP). Required Qualifications BS degree in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry A minimum of 7 years related experience Proven communication prowess (both written and oral) Strong interpersonal skills Ability and willingness to work with diverse staff members and work teams Experience with MS Office software Understanding of regulatory and safety requirements associated with the Nuclear field Ability to wear a respirator US Citizen Desired Qualifications A minimum of 10 years of radiological and/or chemical characterization related experience.
