Radiology RN in Hermiston, Oregon, 97838! Job Title: Interventional

Current RN license in the State of Oregon Certifications: Current
BLS and ACLS certification required Must-Have: Ability to provide
care for patients' age-specific, cultural, physical, and
psychosocial wellbeing Description: The Interventional
Radiology/Cardiology RN provides specialized nursing care to
patients undergoing invasive interventional procedures. These
procedures include angiography, embolization, cardiac
catheterization, and other minimally invasive interventions. This
role involves collaboration with physicians and the
interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality
patient care. The RN is responsible for the direction and
supervision of any personnel assigned to them and may be on call as
needed. Essential job functions include performing a variety of
nursing duties while maintaining efficiency and composure. The RN
administers medications as ordered, including anticoagulants,
vasoactive agents, contrast, and emergency drugs. Maintaining
sterile technique and assisting with procedures as needed is a
critical responsibility. Acting as a patient advocate and
anticipating the needs of the interventionalist is essential. The
RN must recognize and rapidly respond to complications such as
arrhythmia, bleeding, and cardiac arrest. Collaboration with
radiation technologists and physicians to address contrast
allergies or sensitivities is necessary. Participating in
pre-procedure discussions regarding appropriate contrast agents is
also expected. Ensuring allergy considerations are communicated
during the timeout is crucial. When assigned to moderate sedation,
the RN must monitor the patient while ensuring continuous
assessment is maintained. Providing appropriate nursing
interventions for any complications that arise is part of the role.
When assigned as a scrub technologist, the RN prepares and
organizes sterile instruments and anticipates physician needs. The
RN must demonstrate familiarity with vascular anatomy, device
sizing, catheter selection, and procedural flow. Functioning as the
primary monitor technologist requires accurate recording of
hemodynamic data and procedural events. The RN ensures all supplies
used, along with procedural details, are documented accurately.
Assisting with patient preparation, positioning, and verifying
clinical factors is essential during the peri-procedure phase.
Conducting patient identification and timeout processes in
accordance with institutional policy is required. Assisting in
managing supplies, restocking rooms, and ensuring proper device
storage is also expected. Overall, the RN plays a vital role in
ensuring quality care and efficient operations in the
