Job Description Optometrist Opportunity: Othello, WALocated 60 miles from Yakima; 150 miles from SeattlePosition Details: - Full-time - Responsible to examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities. - Responsible to practice at the full scope of their licensure and prescribes medications to treat eye diseases as state law permits. - Responsible to prescribe, supply, fit and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids. - Responsible to analyze test results and develop treatment plans. - Responsible to educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors. - Responsible to remove foreign bodies from the eye. - Responsible to order and interpret special-testing data for patients. - Responsible to observe and train staff regarding appropriate work-up procedures. - Responsible to consult with and refer patients to Ophthalmologist or other health care practitioner, if additional medical treatment is determined necessary. - Responsible to provide patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as cataract and laser vision correction, with pre- and post-operative care. - Responsible to prescribe therapeutic procedures to correct or preserve vision. - Responsible to promote a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of Behavior. - Responsible to uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA. - Responsible to serve as a clinical lead in absence of Director of Eye Care. - Other duties as assigned. - Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of Behavior. - Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specifics. - Optometrist salary range: $115,000 - $145,000 (plus encounter incentive bonus) DOE with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates. Qualifications: Professional and Technical Knowledge: - Maintain authoritative skill and knowledge in the principles of sound medical practice. - Be familiar with the scope of practice and be knowledgeable of the regulatory authority governing the practice of Opticians and Ophthalmic Technicians. - Be attuned to the unique needs of the indigent and underserved with practice emphasis on rural medicine needs. - Degree in optometry from an accredited school of optometry, and is licensed to practice in the state of Washington. Employees and dependents also receive one additional hardware credit per year at CBHAs cost 20% (used for non-prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, or a second pair of prescription glasses). $35 copay is waived for preventative services - Flexible Spending Account - Life Insurance - Accidental Death & Dismemberment Life Insurance Policy - Long Term Disability - Emergency Medical Transport Benefits- Life Flight Network *403 (b) Retirement Plan* - Safe Harbor Match: Employees are eligible to receive a Safe Harbor Match of 100% up to 4% of the employees total salary. Employee is full vested in Safe Harbor Match from day 1. Contributions are subject to IRS guidelines. - Non-Elective Contribution- Provided the employee has met enrollment qualifications, employee will also receive 4% employer contribution of employees total salary at the end of the Plan Year at the discretion of Board of Directors. *Vacation (Personal Leave)* - Full-time exempt employees in their first year will have 80 hours of PTO input into their PTO account at the start of hire. For the reminder of the first year of employment, they will accrue at the rate of .05385 per hour worked not to exceed a per pay period accrual of 4.308 hours. - In year two and thereafter, they will accrue at the rate of .09231 per hour not to exceed a pay period accrual of 7.38 hours. - Employees receive 8 vacation hours (Wellness Day) added to their bank on each anniversary date. *Holidays:* - The following holidays are observed and paid by CBHA. - New Years Day - Memorial Day - Independence Day - Labor Day - Thanksgiving Day - Day after Thanksgiving - Christmas Day - Martin Luther King Jr. Day & Presidents Day are considered floating holidays and are used at employees discretion. *Educational Reimbursement Program* - Employee Assistant Program: - EAP services are available to solve a wide range of concerns for employees.
