Provide safe, effective, patient-family centered perioperative
nursing across all populations Serve primarily as RN First
Assistant during operative and other invasive procedures Assist
intraoperatively with exposure, hemostasis, suturing, and other
first-assist tasks Step into scrub or circulator roles when a first
assist is not required to ensure continuity of care Maintain
competency, credentials, and privileges in accordance with facility
policies Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative
team members to optimize patient outcomes Document perioperative
care accurately and communicate changes in patient condition
promptly Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure RN
First Assistant (RNFA) credential, PA equivalency, or documented
first-assist training and privileges Perioperative/operating room
experience with demonstrated competency in first-assist, scrub, and
circulator roles Familiarity with sterile technique and
intraoperative assistance across patient populations Ability to
meet facility credentialing and competency verification
requirements Education Completion of an accredited nursing program
(ASN/ADN or BSN) and RN licensure Knowledge & Skills Strong
perioperative nursing knowledge including sterile technique and OR
workflow Skilled in intraoperative assistance and first-assist
tasks Comfortable functioning as scrub or circulator when needed
Patient-family centered communication and teamwork Ability to
follow scope of practice, credentialing, and privilege requirements
