What You'll Do:
Supervises, coaches, mentors, and trains direct report staff.
Provides continuous performance management and conducts employee
performance evaluations in consultation with Human Resources.
Addresses performance and/or behavior issues, clarifying
expectations and providing feedback.
Supports staff growth and development. Assesses the educational and
experience needs of all levels of staff in collaboration with the
individual. Encourages staff to seek educational opportunities
incorporating job related training in addition to mandatory
training.
Reviews and monitors staff's clinical records and productivity, and
reviews counseling skills through chart review, direct observation,
video, customer satisfaction surveys, and supervisory sessions.
Participates in the recruitment and selection of staff. Provides
orientation to outline job requirements and expectations, policies
and procedures, and proper use of tools and equipment.
Serves as a liaison to numerous community agencies and
organizations, including higher learning institutions, school
districts, hospitals, law enforcement, Division of Children and
Family Services (DCFS) staff, and tribal authorities.
Collaborates with Clinical or Program Director to coordinate
contracts with community agencies and mental health specialist
services with outside providers.
Maintains current knowledge of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders (DSM), developmental issues, therapeutic
modalities, and community resources.
Maintains limited direct patient care as needed including therapy,
supportive therapeutic counseling, and education to assigned
individuals.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties may be assigned depending on programs
supervised:
1. Assess training needs of BHS and CHS departments that meet
academic and licensure requirements for identified students and
staff.
2. Develop training materials, teaching outlines, and methods for
delivery for clinical staff and student interns as needed.
3. Tracks the status of training programs and workforce resources.
Presents and reports status to internal and external committees and
audiences as requested.
4. Occasional urgent coverage for other clinical supervisors or
direct care staff, including consultations or calls with crisis
workers or clients
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work. Master's Degree in Mental Health,
Counseling, Addiction, or related field may be accepted depending
on programs supervised.
Two years direct service experience working in a behavioral health
field, this includes two years supervisory experience in any
related setting. OR, four years direct service experience working
in a behavioral health field in lieu of supervisory experience.
Required to meet Washington State requirements for a Mental Health
Professional designation.
One of the following Washington State licenses required upon
hire:
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW).
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) (SUD Program Only)
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Behavior
Analyst (LBA) (ABA Program Only)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must demonstrate the ability
to communicate at level 10 on the language proficiency scale to
receive bilingual differential pay.Knowledge of the most current
DSM and multi-axial evaluation required. Knowledge of Revised Codes
of Washington (RCWs) and Washington Administrative Codes (WACs) as
related to the provision of services; Knowledge of Oregon
Administrative Rules (OARs) as related to the provision of
services. Knowledge of culturally relevant resources available
including services for monolingual, non-English speaking consumers
and Native American consumers. Knowledge of personnel and systems
management approaches. Knowledge of therapeutic approaches to
chemical abuse. Ability to effectively express ideas verbally and
in writing in individual and group settings. Effective presentation
skills with groups of all sizes. Ability to convey complex details
in a simplified manner. Knowledge of the child placement system.
Ability to effectively coordinate with state social workers to meet
both the treatment and placement needs of children in the
program.
