Description Kadlec Clinic has exciting opportunities for
Clinical Dietitian to join our growing Dieticians team in Richland,
WA. Shift Details: Part-time, 0.4 FTE, Dayshift (Temporary) Minimum
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a major related to human nutrition or
dietetics, from an accredited educational institution
- Completion of a dietetic internship or equivalent experience
accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics registration (RD or RDN) or
Washington State Dietitian/Nutritionist Certification ( DI or NU)
required within one year of hire Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare clinical experience
- Board certified specialist in renal, pediatric, oncology,
gerontological nutrition, CDE or CNSC
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred Duties include,
but are not limited to, the following: The Clinical Dietitian
remains responsible for nutrition screening, assessment, and
providing nutrition care and education to patients. Ages of
customers: Neonatal to geriatric.
- Screens patients to determine those at risk for nutrition
related problems.
- Plans patient rounds based on nutrition screening
protocol.
- Completes consultations and referrals regarding patient's
nutritional status.
- Develops nutrition care plans as requested by and with the
input of physicians and multidisciplinary care providers.
- Instructs patients on appropriate diet modifications as
requested by physician or other member of the health care
team.
- Documents nutrition care plans, consults, referrals,
assessments and follow-up activities in the patient medical record
following hospital charting guidelines and department P&P.
- Uses professional judgment and clinical expertise to order
appropriate therapeutic diets for patients.
- Assesses changes in patient's clinical status and changes the
therapeutic diet orders as needed.
- Accurately orders the therapeutic diet in the electronic
medical record.
- Uses professional judgment and clinical expertise to assess
patients for the need for oral nutritional supplements.
- Accurately orders the supplement in the patient's electronic
medical record.
- Uses professional judgment and clinical expertise to assess a
patient's need for parenteral nutrition support.
- Accurately assesses calorie, protein, and fluid needs and
orders appropriate enteral feeding formula and proper rate to meet
the needs of the patient's current medical condition.
- Monitors parenteral nutrition tolerance and makes appropriate
changes in the parenteral feeding regimen based on the patient's
medical status.
- Accurately orders enteral feeds in the electronic medical
record.
- Uses professional judgment and clinical expertise to make
recommendations for parenteral nutrition.
- Accurately assesses calorie, protein, and fluid needs and
provides to pharmacy parenteral nutrition recommendations.
- Monitors parenteral nutrition tolerance and makes appropriate
changes in the parenteral feeding regimen based on the patient's
medical status.
- Assists with the development of nutrition education
materials.
- Assists with development of nutrition care policies and
procedures and nutrition education materials.
- Participates in clinical nutrition performance improvement
activities; recommends improvements and participates in the
development and implementation of improvement plans.
- Provides in-service education as assigned.
- Researches and resolves nutrition care related complaints and
problems.
- Serves as preceptors for students and dietetic interns.
- Keeps the Clinical Nutrition Manager informed of activities,
needs, problems, and unusual situations. About Providence At
