Kadlec Clinic has an exciting opportunity for an Registered Nurse (RN) ASC PACU to join our growing Tricity Regional Surgery Ctr team located in Richland, Washington.$4,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.Shift Details: Day-shift, Per- diem 0.0 FTE; hours vary between 6:30AM to 5:00PM; No weekends and Holidays!Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:Graduation from an accredited nursing programCurrent WA State RN LicensureCurrent American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLSACLS and PALS required within 6 months from date of hire into the positionPreferred Qualifications:BSN from an accredited nursing program1 year recent PACU or Critical Care experienceDuties include, but are not limited to, the following:As a Registered Nurse you will assumes independent responsibility/accountably for the direct, primary care of patients through the pre/post phases of surgical care. Utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care during the peri-operative phase. Coordinates total patients care in coordination with other health care team members. Functions as a patient advocate utilizing the Patients' Bill of Rights. Demonstrates professional growth and development by accepting responsibility and accountability for one's nursing practice. Serves as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients and their families to facilitate safe and effective flow of patient care in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of Kadlec Regional Medical Center; and assists in providing direction and supervision of nursing and support staff, as well as perform related duties as assigned.Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct.Understand, embraces, and instills Kadlec's Mission, Vision and ValuesAct as a resource to staff, physicians, and visitorsVerify the operative procedure using the consent form, patient's statement and if needed the surgeon's verification prior to procedureNote the condition of the skin for rashes, bruises, lesions and previous incisionsDetermine mobility of the body utilizing the patient's statement, range of motion, and the history & physicalReport deviation of diagnostic studies such as lab or radiology reportsIdentify presence of prosthesis such as dentures, pacemakers and joint prosthesis/implantsNote nutritional status such as patient has been NPOVerify allergies to medication, food, or chemicalsCommunicate and documents physiological data to other members of the health care team in verbal or written report, including data which may be relevant to discharge planningElicit patient expectations of care and outcome of surgeryDetermine level of knowledge and ability to understand, such as language barrier and seeks assistance as necessaryIdentify philosophical, religious and cultural beliefs concerning the intraoperative phase, such as blood transfusions, disposition of limbs, and sacramentsCommunicate and documents psychological data to other members of the health care team in verbal or written report, including data which may be relevant to discharge planningEstablish realistic and attainable goals based on nursing diagnosis and develop a plan of care based on nursing actions to achieve patient goalsFormulate the plan of care with the patient/family and members of the health care team, documenting desired outcomes/interventionsIndividualize nursing interventions to achieve desired outcomes based on patient practice guidelines, protocols, standards, and medical diagnosisDevelop plan and outcome goals that are attainable in relation to resources available to the patientOrganize nursing activities in logical sequence, prioritizing nursing dutiesCoordinate patient care needs with other members of the health care teamAssign activities to appropriate personnel based on their qualifications and the patient needsMaintain required certifications (CPR/ACLS/PALS) and performs effectively in an emergency situationCommunicate and documents the patient's plan of care to the health care team in verbal or written report, including that which may be relevant to discharge planningConfirm the patient's identity using the ID bracelet and verbal conformation from the patient/familyProvide emotional needs during transportCommunicate and documents method of transportParticipate in pre-operative teaching as needed, such as explanation of surgical routine and environmentCommunicate and documents patient/family teachingUse principles of aseptic technique in varying situations, such as infection control practices, skin preps, hand washing, demonstrating knowledge of clean vs. sterileAdhere to dress code policy for peri-operative areasAnticipate needed equipment and suppliesSelect equipment and supplies in an organized, timely and cost effective mannerAssure all equipment is functioning before useOperate mechanical, electrical and powered equipment according to manufacturers' instructions and the centers policyAdminister drugs and solutions as prescribedUse age related concepts, body size and preexisting conditions in implementing the plan of care as demonstrated by adjusting medications and responding to laboratory resultsCommunicate and documents administration of medications and solutions according to policy, including medication errorsControl the environment in the Pre/Post areas to provide ultimate patient care, such as temperature of room, sensory stimuli, and traffic and noise levelAdhere to all safety policies and proceduresAdhere to sanitation policies for infection control including confine and contain waste disposalDemonstrate awareness and practices according to the Patient's Bill of Rights and the Center's policiesProvide for patient safety and maintains patient confidentialityCommunicate and documents
