A day in the life of a Manager involves:
Plan and Supervise preventative and corrective maintenance in the
Demonstrate personal accountability for the safe performance of
Direct and control work in a manner that is consistent within the
current boundaries of the Authorization Basis, ensuring a balance
of craft skills, work site supervision, and documentation and
materials are in place before starting work and throughout the
Conduct pre-job and post-job briefings including Enhanced Work
Planning meetings and lessons learned.
Ensure that work does not commence until all personnel involved
with the fieldwork understand the work scope, hazards and hazard
controls, hold points, and their roles and responsibilities.
Assure status of Operations equipment including TSR and
environmental compliance is maintained and communicated to
Complete work activity documentation accurately and thoroughly,
ensuring appropriate review, approvals, and/or authorizations are
Build and maintain fieldwork teams, recognizing achievements and
correcting behaviors detrimental to the safe conduct of work and/or
to the team.
Act as an integral part of communications systems, providing an
upward and downward link for the timely transfer of
Interact with other projects and W&FMP support organizations to
ensure that their project goals and work activities are met.
Continually review activities of the work group and develop,
direct, and monitor implementation of plans for improved safety,
efficiency, and productivity.
Implement the company policy and contractual commitments applicable
to bargaining unit personnel.
The position interfaces with W&FMP Management, Operations
personnel, and support organizations on a daily basis.
One of the following:
- BA/BS Degree in related field or equivalent experience, plus a
minimum of 5 years related experience.
- High School plus 10 years DOE/Nuclear Field Experience.
- High School plus Journeyman Level craft, plus 6 years related
Experience as a Field Work Supervisor on the Hanford Site.
Detailed technical, engineering, and operations knowledge with
sufficient depth of understanding of interfaces in a nuclear
facility. Knowledgeable of W&FMP, Operations, and Nuclear
Operations policies/procedures and administrative controls.
Previous Electrical or Instrumentation background.
