TitleManager, Labor Relations Position Number31500 CompanyWA River Protection Solutions Location2750/200E Posted11/15/2018 Closes11/22/2018 Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Responsibilities/Duties Manage, direct, integrate and execute the functional groups of the Labor Relations organization of Washington River Protection Solutions LLC (WRPS) in a manner which supports the efficient execution of work. Provide leadership for the development of effective labor relations strategies and relationships. Directly interface with DOE, other Hanford Site contractors and labor unions. Provide continuous leadership and commitment to achieving zero injuries.Direct and oversee company's labor relations programs, policies, and procedures. Provide sound counsel, guidance and professional support to Senior Management on matters pertaining to Labor Relations.The quality of the relationship with the labor union organizations at Hanford is paramount to the success of WRPS in its role as the Tank Operations Contractor. Developing and maintaining a positive, productive partnering relationship with HAMTC and the CWBCTC is a critical component of this position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to achieve such relationships.Responsibilities Include: Manage, administer and interpret the WRPS/HAMTC & Hanford Site Stabilization Agreement Collective Bargaining Agreements *Develop and implement initiatives to establish a productive, trusting relationship between the labor unions and WRPS management. Develop and implement projects Labor Relations Plan in support of company strategic objectives Develop solutions for complex labor relations problems requiring adaptation of applicable laws, established policy and practice Provide training and counsel to company management in all areas of collective bargaining, workplace issues, and disciplinary actions to ensure CBA compliance in their day-to-day operations Facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace Understand the major business disciplines, the current status and trends in the industry and one's own organization's positions Identify opportunities and take action to build strategic relationships between one's area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals Maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational norms in conducting internal and external business activities Develop and implement company bargaining unit employee policies and procedures Manage personnel and budget Training and development of Labor Relations staff; create capacity for staff to be productive and help each staff member find his or her means to contribute *Responsible for administration of company grievance and arbitration processes *Provide outreach with community agencies Coordinate with other organizations to establish recruitment and retraining programs for skilled labor Establish and maintain a good working relationship with Local HAMTC Representatives, Local Union Presidents and Senior Union Officials from the International Metal Trades Department *Establish and maintain a good working relationship with Construction and Building Trades Senior International Union Officials, Local Union Presidents, and Representatives Project lead spokesman/negotiator in collective bargaining negotiations and on major labor relations initiatives Required Qualifications BA/BS degree plus 15 years of directly related Labor Relations experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Management experience preferred but not required.
