AAA Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our HR team. We are hiring a Senior Manager of Learning and Development. Jumpstart your career at AAA Washington!The Senior Manager of Learning and Development collaborates with key stakeholders to create, implement, manage, and facilitate learning and development strategies and programs from conception to ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement. This position applies their expertise in adult learning to ensure effective, efficient capability building that targets critical skills and behaviors that drive success and meet business needs while integrating the AAA Washington mission and culture throughout. Primary areas of focus are skill development, learning support for all employees and leadership development.RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to:Build and quickly scale an L& D program across in-person/hybrid/remote workforce.Serve as a learning experience designer, facilitator, and coach for the organization.Conduct needs analysis and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify training and development needs and clearly define training and development objectives for the organization and individuals.Partner with key stakeholders on new training initiatives and assist with determining resources necessary to support these initiatives.Design, develop, and deliver effective training programs for leaders, managers and individual contributors using blended, classroom-based, virtual facilitation and eLearning programs.Mentor and collaborate with technical trainers within the various lines of business to assist with developing technical training materials and programs.Partner with key stakeholders to design and develop training and development solutions that improve business results through increased retention, improved engagement, and development of high-performing employees.Own and improve existing instructional materials to ensure effectiveness of training across the organization.Leverage existing and emerging technologies to engage and enhance training experience, including e-Learning tools and collaboration platforms.Ensure training materials, resources, and tools meet learning and performance objectives through a variety of assessment methods.Measure and monitor effectiveness of training and development programs by assessing learning application, follow-through, and performance improvement.Manage AAA Washington's Learning Management System (LMS) to create and assign learning paths, curate, and recommend third party training content, create, and upload original content and troubleshoot and resolve problems reported by end-users.Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technology, and tools through continuous research to ensure innovative solutions.Work closely with the HR Partners to support various organizational effectiveness programs and organizational change initiatives.Partner with leaders to develop career pathing and succession planning for their team members.Research, negotiate, engage and manage tasks, programs and budget for third party training suppliers, consultants and related service providers.Manage department budget for training programs and training activities.Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.Special projects in various business lines as needed.QUALIFICATIONSSummary of Experience and EducationBachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent, preferably in adult education, organizational development, human resources, or business-related field.Five to seven years' experience managing training and development including instructional design and facilitation.Working knowledge of current e-learning trends and tools and experience in e-learning instructional design, preferably in customer service or retail environment.Experience in a consultative environment using and leveraging existing technology infrastructures to improve the quality of processes and products.ATD Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or similar training certification preferred.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSkilled using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate.Excellent organization and attention to detail.Experience managing Learning Management Systems (LMS), experience with Absorb a plus.Technical aptitude and the ability to type with working knowledge of computers, MS Suite and the internet and the ability to learn new technology and applications.Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally, one on one and in group presentation (in person and virtually), in writing, and utilizing effective listening skills.Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict, relate positively to people in stressful situations, and remain calm under pressure.Ability to address multiple demands and adjust style and approach to suit situations that involve rapidly changing tasks, shifting priorities, simultaneous demands, or transitions into new assignments.Able to make timely and sound decisions, understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes.Willing to take extra measures and independent action to solve problems and get work done when the situation calls for it while holding self and others accountable.Skill in working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, establishing rapport, and gaining the trust of others.Capable of mentoring, motivating and guiding others toward both individual and organization goals and to fulfill the shared vision.Ability to establish credibility as a subject matter expert and develop trust and rapport with key stakeholders.Models a high standard of quality and commitment to serving
