We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest. Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.This position is a full-time role that offers full-time telework in accordance with current business requirements, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. This position may require periodic travel to the Richland, Washington project office via business trips. Relocation to the Richland, Washington project office or job site may be required in the future if business requirements change.Position SummaryEssential duties include performing pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code. The stress work includes the modeling of the piping systems to verify piping flexibility, stability and qualification of equipment nozzle loads. Work closely with layout personnel and pipe support engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.Qualifications and SkillsBasic Qualifications:Level 1 - BS degree with 6 years of related experience.Level 2 - BS degree with 9 years of related experience.Good knowledge of ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards.Prior experience using pipe stress analysis programs.Minimum Qualifications:Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.Possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:PE RegistrationPrior experience using pipe stress analysis programs including ME101 and/or Bentley AutoPIPE.Previous Bechtel project experience.Previous DOD/DOE project experience.
