United States of America - Washington, Richland Job Summary Technical Training Instructor, who reports to a Training Supervisor/Manager and is responsible for the delivery of approved technical training materials, with specific emphasis in the areas of electrical and/or controls and instrumentation. The technical training is provided to qualify personnel for positions in plant operations, maintenance, laboratory, radiological control organization, engineering and/or other technical training. This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS Conduct technical training (e.g. classroom and/or on-the-job training), including instruction, exam administration and training effectiveness evaluations: - Implement training program to qualify operations, maintenance, laboratory, radiological control, and/or other technical personnel to ensure staff have the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform work safely with competencies commensurate with their responsibilities. - Coordinate and communicate between the training organization and other line management or support organizations to ensure training needs are identified and met through effective training. - Perform observations and assessments to ensure activities are implemented safely and effectively in accordance with approved procedures. - Support a strong Nuclear Safety Quality Culture (NSQC) by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work, in order to protect self, others, and the environment. - This job description is not intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which an employee is responsible. Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor's request(s). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual AECOM has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) to construct, start-up and commission the worlds largest radioactive-waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in southeastern Washington state. The project will use vitrification technology to process and stabilize 53 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste currently stored at the Hanford Site which is a byproduct of plutonium-production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind ever and one of DOEs most technically challenging cleanup projectsequivalent to building two nuclear power plants. Its construction site spans 65 acres and includes facilities for pretreatment, low-activity waste vitrification, and high-level waste vitrification, as well as an analytical laboratory. Minimum Requirements Education/Experience: Minimum Requirements per DOE O 426.2: - High School (HS) Diploma AND - Must have knowledge and/or expertise consistent with the technical material to be presented. AND - Must have experience as an instructor, or have the ability to successfully demonstrate knowledge of instructional techniques through basic instructor training. AND (if applicable) - Instructors who are responsible for instruction of subjects such as Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) must have successfully completed training on facility operating characteristics and principles, and operating limits (Safety Limits, Limiting Control Settings, and Limiting Conditions for Operation) and their bases or have had significant involvement in writing the TSRs. Preferred candidates will have: - At least 6 years technical experience in operations, maintenance, or related technical position in Naval Nuclear, Department of Energy Nuclear, or Commercial Nuclear Operations. - Experience in technical instruction. - Experience in design, operation and/or maintenance of electrical and/or controls and instrumentation. This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship Preferred Qualifications NA What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
