Description:Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a RN Advanced Life Safety Instructor for ACLS and/or PALS classes to join our growing Clinical Education team located in Richland, Washington!Shift Details: Per Diem. Day shifts.On average, Life Safety Instructors teach 8-10 hours a month fromassigned classes. Classes are taught primarily Monday through Saturday, betweenthe hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and classes are chosen by Instructors inlate fall, for the following calendar year.Qualifications:Minimum Requirements:Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.Two (2) years of clinical experience required.ACLS classes only: Current American Heart Association Provider ACLS card required. American Heart Association ACLS Instructor certification required within 6 months from date of hire into the position.PALS:CurrentAmerican Heart Association PALS Provider card required. American HeartAssociation PALS Instructor certification required within 6 months from date ofhire into the position.Preferred Qualifications:One (1) year teaching experience preferred.Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:As an RN - Advanced Life Safety Instructor you are responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of staff orientation, competencies, and education in the department; Acts as a resource for provider, patient, and family education; and supports and demonstrates the Mission, Vision and Values of Kadlec Regional Medical Center.Conducts AHA ACLS or PALS classes.Utilizes a variety of teaching techniques such as manuals with lesson maps, visual aids, charts, lectures and physical demonstrations of life support skills checks.Maintains AHA ACLS or PALS Instructor Certification, meeting the AHA minimum requirements for teaching.Aligns with Kadlec Regional Medical Center's Training Center including signing the Instructor Agreement, and registering on the AHA Instructor Network.Conducts classes for adolescents and adults at Kadlec and within the community.Conducts classes for Kadlec Regional Medical Center staff and community health care professionals by teaching AHA ACLS, PALS and other AHA courses.Assesses the participants' level of understanding and adapts instruction to the best advantage for the participants, while following the AHA guidelines and agendas at all times.We offer a full comprehensive range of benefits - see our website for details -http://www.kadlec.org/careers/benefits-informationOur MissionProvide safe compassionate care.
