Oasis Farms, Inc in Prosser, WA is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant. This position will work closely with our Controller and finance team to ensure our organization's financial, human resource, and tax records are monitored and kept up to date. They will be responsible for maintaining all accounting records and producing timely reports, analysis, and statements in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles. Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and an excellent ability to pay attention to details. Staff accountant responsibilities will vary depending on the time of year, and must have the ability to work in an environment with changing priorities and deadlines.Position Responsibilities:Post entries accurately and completely to the general ledger and verify/balance general ledger accounts.Post, validate, and process banking, accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.Assist in the preparations of month-end closings.Maintain accounting files and backup documentation.Provide general administrative support including electronic and physical file organization and retrieval, copying material and conducting electronic or fax correspondence as needed.Maintain follow-up systems to ensure timely submission of requirements.Administrative support.Field Receipt Data ManagementBlock CostingEmployee Loan AdministratorL&I Rate AuditorPayroll Clerk BackupFixed Asset ManagementAnalyze trends for monthly expenses such as fuel, electricity, shop/maintenance-related expenses, etc.Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenuePrepare documentation for external auditorsSkills and CompetenciesBachelor s degree in accounting or finance requiredAt least two years experience in accounting or a related fieldStrong mathematical and analytical skillsProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelExcellent oral and written communication skillsProven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to read and analyze financial reportsStrong understanding of US tax regulationsEducation, Experience & RequirementsAccounting Degree PreferredExperience will be considered in lieu of education requirements2+ years experience in AgriculturePhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds .Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in person and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.Must have vision with or without lenses adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms, and clinical and administrative documents.Must have high manual dexterity.Must be able to reach above shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, finger, and feeling.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.Oasis Farms is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
